At first glance, the software at RedKings Poker seems very slick, and although visually, there is nothing wrong with it, in regards to playability, the software has some issues. In the lobby, you are given all the useful stats about the tables and during table play, you are able to choose from a few different view options, such as mini table and full screen. That being said, due to their java based online version, this poker site is perfect for Mac users as there is no download necessary.

The game variety at RedKings Poker is around the industry standard offering Hold 'Em (NL, PL, FL), Omaha (PL, FL), Omaha Hi/Lo (PL, FL), 7-Card Stud (FL), 7-Card Stud Hi/Lo (FL) and 5-Card Draw (FL). They boast about 5,000-5,500 real money ring game players at peak hours and about 15,000-16,000 real money tournament players at peak hours in September, 2008.

The loyalty bonus at RedKings is slightly suffering, however, due to the fact that there isn't much you can do with your player points. You can enter specific tournaments with these points, and also earn back your sign up bonus. Due to the fact that RedKings has a large power company backing their software, you can expect the highest level of security and constant updates to maintain them.

Ring game traffic (8/10)

There are currently 5,000-5,500 real money ring game players at peak hours.

Tournament Traffic (8/10)

There are currently 15,000-15,500 real money tournament players at peak hours.

Game Variety (7.5/10)

The game variety at RedKings Poker is around the industry standard offering Hold 'Em (NL, PL, FL), Omaha (PL, FL), Omaha Hi/Lo (PL, FL),7-Card Stud (FL), 7-Card Stud Hi/Lo (FL) and 5-Card Draw (FL). Although these games are enough to keep the average player interested, the more advance player is usually looking for a little bit more.

Software & Graphics (8/10)

The software at RedKings upon first glance, seems very slick. It has great lobby options and statistics, and it also has a very user friendly layout. The problem, however, arises when you leave your mouse anywhere. A bubble opens on almost every single thing on the site, and this bubble is so large that it covers up almost the rest of the screen. This can be rather irritating to the average user, but players who can understand this and move their mouse to more appropriate places, will not be bothered by it.

During table play, there are a few unique options that the user can experience. The first is the ability to use mini table view for multi tabling, and the second is their full screen view for those who like it bigger. While you are playing, however, there are a few drawbacks. Firstly, it is often difficult to see what size bet you are deciding to call or not. This number is just small text font right above the "call", "raise", or "fold" buttons. Personally, I find this a little difficult, but once you get used to it, it seems OK.

There are also the standard features such as note taking, and hand histories, although the hand histories are shown in text format which is not always the easiest for the less experienced players.

Rake (7/10)

RedKings Poker uses a pretty standard no flop, no drop policy, meaningthat they do not take out any rake from pots where there was no flop. The rake is at 5% on all types of games (from all limits and number ofplayers) and stops at a maximum of $3.

Soft Competition (7/10)

Due to the fact that the player base is shared by a few different sites, you are bound to find some loose and juicy games on RedKings Poker. That being said, you need to know where to find it. Look for avg. player's/flop in the 50s and 60s. If you join these tables with a view flop% in the 20s, you are sure to make some quick money here.

Loyalty Bonus (7/10)

The loyalty bonus is where RedKings is really lacking. Although you earn player points, these points have no real redemption value. There are occasional tournaments to be entered with the points, but they are mainly used for earning your sign up bonus.

Beginning on August 7th, 2008, however, RedKings Poker started "The Poker Games" which has an olympics theme and over $20,000 in guarantees and prizes!

Financial Security (9/10)

Being backed by the Ongame Network, the security of this site receives a top score.

Support Features: Email , Phone and Live Support
Email confirmation/receipt: No
Speed: Very fast
