Under the Gun:

The first player to act after the blind bets is said to be “under the gun”.

Undercut:

(1) The final down-card being the lowest hole card in Low-Hole Stud. (2) A shuffling technique for preparing a stacked deck, which is especially useful for preparing two stacked hands simultaneously.

Underdog:

A person or a hand that is not mathematically favored to win a pot. (2) When two hands face-off, the underdog is the player that is least less likely to win. This is sometimes shortened to the phrase “dog”.

Union Oil:

Seven-six (76).

Unlimited Poker:

A game in which there is no limit placed on bets or raises.

Up:

(1) The ace of anteing. (2) The higher of two-pair, for example, queens and tens is called queens-up.

Up the Creek:

A game in which split-whiskered kings are wild.

Up-Cards:

The face-up cards in Stud, also known as open cards.
