Thirteen-Card Stud with five cards for each player and eight table cards in a V formation, with one side of the V played for high and the other side played for low.

Valet:

A jack.

Value:

The return or expected value you get on your betting investment.

Value Bet:

Making a bet when you believe that you will win more money than you will lose by making the same type of bet in the long run.

Variance:

A measure of the up and down swings your bankroll goes through during play, though it is not necessarily a measure of how well you play. However, the higher your variance, the wider swings you will see in your bankroll.

Vigorish:

The amount taken by the house for running a game.
